Yeonjun POV

9:00 PM. The cold bit into your skin as you waited behind the performing arts building. You weren't sure why you'd come. You told yourself it was curiosity. Not because your stomach flipped when you saw his name on your screen. Not because the silence in the practice room without him had felt... wrong.

Footsteps approached. You turned. Yeonjun stood there, black hoodie pulled over his head, eyes unreadable. There was a bruise under his cheekbone. You stared. “What the hell happened?”He didn’t answer right away. Just walked past you and leaned against the wall, exhaling like he’d been holding his breath for hours. Then, quietly: “They were talking about you.” Your chest tightened. “What?" “Those guys. Saying things. About why we were paired. About how you probably—” He stopped. Jaw clenched. “I lost it.”

You felt the words before you heard them. “You got suspended because of me?”“I don’t regret it.” His voice was calm. Honest. “I just didn’t want you to hear it.”

Silence settled, thick and heavy. You stepped forward, arms folded. “You’re not supposed to care. ? We hate each other.”He looked at you then, something stormy behind his gaze. “Yeah. That’s the problem.” Your heart stopped.

Before you could speak, he stepped closer — too close — his voice lower now, barely audible above the wind. “I don’t think I hate you anymore.”Your lips parted, but no sound came. He leaned in, like he might kiss you. And then— A loud crash echoed from the school courtyard. A shout. Then footsteps running toward you both. Yeonjun’s eyes widened.

“Run,” he whispered, grabbing your hand.
